Space Availability - CreateSpace

3D printers

The Bambu Lab X1-Carbon, P1S and P2S are available at CreateSpace to University students and staff. Either bring in your own .STL, .OBJ, or Thing file on a USB, or browse Thingiverse or MakerWorld to find a design you would like to print (please download .STL file only). Our friendly Library staff will be on site to assist you.

This is a free service. Bookings must be made at least 24 hours in advance. Please note that print colour selection is subject to availability.

The build volume of the Bambu Lab X1-Carbon printer is 256 x 256 x 256 mm.

Currently, only 1-colour prints are permitted on Bambu Lab printers. There is a limit of 150 grams of filament per booking per week. We are unable to accommodate your print if your design exceeds this limit. We strongly advise checking your print file by downloading Bambu Studios to ensure the limit does not exceed the booking limit.

Community or Alumni member? Contact the PLA team at library.peerlearningadvisors@sydney.edu.au for bookings.

Since July 2026, ThinkSpace uses recycled PLA filament, and to ensure that our spaces remain wholly sustainable, we are unable to allow any filament to be brought into ThinkSpace.

Note 1: You will not be able to bring your own filament into ThinkSpace and will need to make a booking at CreateSpace if you require more than the limit.

Note 2: CreateSpace equipment is reserved only for current students or staff. For Community or Alumni members, please contact the PLA team at library.peerlearningadvisors@sydney.edu.au for bookings at ThinkSpace.
