This is a workshop run with the HDR+ student grant to help HDR students in academia and beyond.
Most students would have heard of Confucius, but not necessary know of his philosophy. Even if HDR students do not major in philosophy, it is beneficial include some fundamental Asian philosophy in their repertoire of HDR knowledge to engage in the world both within and outside academia, especially considering Australia’s geo-proximity to Asia.
A/Prof. Shirley Chan, Chair of Chinese Department from Macquarie University and Melissa Law will be conducting the workshop with assistance from peers.
In making philosophy relevant to the HDR cohort, they will select verses from the Confucian classics that relate the current HDR student experience and guide HDR students in the world outside academia.
