Intro to generative AI (in person and online)

Intro to generative AI (in person and online) In-Person / Online

As a student, how can you use tools like ChatGPT in your studies? Come along to this free workshop by the Library PLAs to learn about this disruptive new technology, how it works, and what you need to be aware of when using it to support your University study.

The Peer Learning Advisors will be providing you the student and library experience in Generative AI tools such as ChatGPT.

Learn more about:

  • Understand the basics of generative AI and how ChatGPT fits into this field.

  • Understand how ChatGPT works, including architecture and training process of the model.

  • Understand it retains the data you feed into it and also learn how to “opt-out” of this through changing the settings.

  • Discover the potential areas and applications of ChatGPT. (What areas has it already made an impact?)

  • Understand the limitations of ChatGPT, including issues related to bias, recency of data, and limited context awareness.

  • Know where to access it.

  • Gain hands-on experience with it through a language-based game.

This workshop can be attended in person at ThinkSpace, Jane Foss Russell Building or online via Zoom.
